Chaos continues throughout the planet as we enter the spring of 2023.

If you’re still not sure.  Read on for some free samples.

#1  April is Global Astronomy Month.  It is the one month of the year when conspiracy theorists don’t sound crazy contending ETs are among us.  Their theory is at least one ET just wants to eat Reese’s Pieces and call home.

#2  April is National Card and Letter Writing Month.  I plan to bombard my congressman with letters asking him to support Elon Musk’s dream of colonizing Mars.  I’m suggesting the politician volunteer to be one of the first residents.

#3  April is National Poetry Month.  Here’s one to warm your heart’s cockles.  “Roses are red, Violets are teal.  If you think Congress cares, Your thoughts might be unreal.”

#4  April is National Records and Information Management Month.  Just for the record, this year may be the first time a former U.S. President gets indicted for paying off a porn star, which gives new meaning to issuing a gag order.

#5  The second week of April is Garden Week.  I understand that after Christmas, this is Santa Claus’s favorite.  He is known to get rowdy and excitedly parade around chanting, “Hoe, hoe, hoe!”

#6  On April 2, 1978, the TV show “Dallas” premiered.  I was told it almost didn’t make it out of production.  The network wanted a 30-minute show.  Producers said they needed an hour to tell the story because those  phony accents turned every syllable into two.

#7  April 6 is Teflon Day.  To be honest, I usually don’t celebrate this holiday.  It’s just a little too slick for me.

#8  This year, April 7 is Good Friday.  Usually this is affiliated with Easter.  I can’t speak for you, but I don’t believe in coincidence.  This year, it is a Good Friday because it also happens to be No Housework Day.

#9  April 8 is Draw a Picture of a Bird Day.  I tried to celebrate last year.  But I couldn’t find a model.  All the hand models I know contended the assignment was too stifling.  They had to communicate in sign language with a limited vocabulary.

#10  April 12 is Big Wind Day.  In Texas, we call it Amarillo.
